Manuscript Review

Goblin Fern Press does not charge a reading fee. We will do a free three-chapter read of properly formatted manuscripts (for GFP manuscript formatting guidelines, click here) submitted with a book proposal (for GFP book proposal guidelines, click here. )

Goblin Fern Press offers a comprehensive manuscript review, which includes an objective written line-by-line analysis of content for accuracy, voice, character development, continuity, consistency, relevance to audience, redundancy, clarity, grammar, punctuation, and syntax. It also includes marketing suggestions and an analysis of commercial viability/publishability.

This includes a two-hour face-to-face commentary, with a $120 an hour charge after that. This author service costs between $7 and $12 per manuscript page (300 words per page), depending on editorial needs determined during the free three-chapter read. We will provide you with an estimate prior to beginning any manuscript review.

Children's books manuscript reviews are a minimum of $450 for book of up to 2,000 words.
